Bourbon Heritage Month


Another passing September marks a proud month for the Blue Grass State, as September is nationally recognized as Bourbon heritage month. Bourbon whiskey is a storied product in the state of Kentucky, a true staple that has come to represent not only hundreds of years of distilling history but the state itself. In fact, Bourbon takes its name from Kentucky’s Bourbon County, where as far back as the 1700′s barrels stamped with “Bourbon” were shipped across the country to satisfied customers. Moving to Kentucky without giving authentic Kentucky bourbon a fair shake would be like taking a trip to Baltimore and passing on the crab cakes or heading to a Kansas City steakhouse and ordering a fruit salad. After all, you’d be hard pressed to find a happy Kentucky home without at least one bottle of Bourbon stashed away for a rainy day. (more…)



Are You Considering Moving to a Large City in Kentucky?


Kentucky has quite bit to offer residents, from beautiful land and great hunting to the popular Mammoth Caves and the famous Kentucky Derby. It is no wonder that so many people love calling it their home state. Those who are thinking about moving to the state might worry that it does not have the urban environments and excitement that they want, but nothing could be further from the truth. You can find some large, cosmopolitan cities in the state.Two of the most famous and populated cities in the state of Kentucky are Louisville and Lexington. When you move to either of these two cities, you will find that you can find nightlife where you can enjoy bourbon and dancing, museums, and great activities. It is also often easier to find a job when you move to one of the cities as opposed to a small town. The real estate prices in the area are reasonable, particularly when you compare them to the rest of the nation. You can get a single family home for a bit over 200,000. In California, for example, you would be hard pressed to buy a condo for that amount of money. (more…)
